This Privacy Policy explains how Last Night collects, uses, stores, and shares information about you when you use the Last Night mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Name and email address via Google or Apple Sign-In
Profile photo and display name
Photos you capture and upload within groups
Bio and other profile information

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device type, OS version, and unique device identifiers
Push notification tokens
Log data including IP address and timestamps

1.3 What We Don't Collect

We do not collect payment information, GPS location, biometric data, or advertising data.

1.4 Phone Number and Contacts

You may optionally provide your phone number. We store only a one-way SHA-256 hash of your number — your raw phone number is never sent to or stored on our servers.

If you grant contacts permission, we hash your contacts' phone numbers on your device and send only the hashes to our servers to identify which of your contacts are already on Last Night. We never store, transmit, or retain your contacts list. Contact hashes are used solely for friend suggestions and are not linked to your identity.

Enable group photo sharing with time-locked unlock functionality
Send push notifications when group photos unlock
Operate, maintain, and improve the app
Detect and prevent fraud and abuse

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Other Users

Your profile and photos are visible to members of your groups.

3.2 With Service Providers

Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication
Amazon Web Services — photo storage, delivery, and backend infrastructure
Apple — Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery

3.3 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete a photo, it is removed from our storage. When you delete your account, your data — including your profile, photos, and group memberships — is removed within 30 days. Copies may persist briefly in temporary caches before being fully cleared.

5. Your Rights

Delete your account anytime in app settings
Update your profile at any time
Control push notifications via device settings
California residents: CCPA rights apply
EEA/UK residents: GDPR rights apply

6. Children's Privacy

Last Night is not intended for users under 18. We delete accounts of users found to be under 18.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted storage, and access controls. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
